Day Job Killer Review - is it worth bothering

I’m sure there are going to be a lot of reviews and articles about day job killer coming up over the next couple of weeks. This isn’t a review but more of my own personal observations about both Project X (the authors previous product in the IM niche) and day job killer.

I keep an eye on Internet Marketing forums and the like and occasionally get offers from the Marketers if I haven’t already dropped them. Anyway a few days ago one dropped in Mailwasher, and curious I followed the link and watched the video that was put up as the teaser.

It annoyed me that here was another brit actually showing clickbank stats that frankly I would have liked years ago. I know it must have taken work and probably a lot of PPC spend, but even so…

I made a snap decision to buy day job killer right away the moment it came online. So I sat at 4.00.pm just before the last Morse program came on ITV. It wasn’t there. A refresh at 5 past whilst I was getting the teapot refilled and there it was.

Now I was in Alonissos with Nic in July - with no steady Internet Access - so I missed all the fuss about Project X - Chris’s previous product. So the “One Time Offer” of Project X at a reduced price got me clicking again - without reading much of the sales page…. must have been an off afternoon!

Of course I knew that this guy must have some sort of guarantee otherwise it would be bye bye here come the cops time.. so what did I have to lose. I had just enough in my paypal account to cover the $77, although as you’ll see I think that’s a bit too much. The other Project X document will have to draw on the bank account a bit unless I get a few sales of Beyond Bedroom Guitar quickly today.

So I got two products.. both the Project X and day job killer.

First thoughts….

Day Job Killer: At 71 pages and $77 that’s just over a dollar a page. Directly useful pages for me - about 50 of them. Is the material good. Well if you’re technically savvy - can create your own web pages, can use autoresponders, can use tracking software, can use google adwords easily, can find your way around cloaking links, clickbank, cookie web programming… then It might be.

I read through it once yesterday (after Morse had finished). My initial thoughts were of disappointment.

If your a complete beginner then I’m afraid this ebook will be a complete frustration to you. I know Chris wanted to not put any fluff in but his Video for complete beginners will still leave them bewildered.. not a good sign especially as it had a few problems loading that page to begin with.

So lucky man I am I have CB account, I have a mature Adwords account (gawd I got so burned with the original google cash stuff I ***** it! )

I can create web pages, blogs, links, cloaks etc.. I know how to do all this stuff but Day Job Killer started giving me the plan - the blueprints and also where to ’steal them from’. That’s my one big reservation with the contents - it does get a bit close to the knuckle and even with my ‘grandos huevos’ I wouldn’t dream of using some of the cheaty tactics.

My best description of it is an OK guide to using Adwords for affiliate sale generation - with some sales work.

Project X: Well this is an eye opener. No wonder there was so much fuss made. I finished reading it this morning and its definately going to be read again with pen in hand to take notes. A lot of the ideas presented in Day Job Killer are taken from this and some were a bit confusing. Reading about the techniques such as the Leech made a lot more sense. I was quite shocked with some of the tactics and the author does try and push a few affiliate links in the book for Keyword Elite and the like. However I rate this book a bit higher in value.

Taking the two together Day Job Killer is kind of a Project X part 2 book which builds on it. Thus it repeats a lot of the information in the first book and expands on it. Problem is that I don’t personally feel it can quite stand on its own without the first - or a good technical background of Web Site design and programming, and Adwords.

Infact this reliance on Adwords can be a bit of a burden - not everyone has $40-50 a pop just to test a niche to see if its actually profitable. Sure Chris gives ways of trying to recoup you’re losses during the testing phase but it can still get quite expensive - especially as the ‘cat is out of the bag’ now and a lot of people will be trying the same techniques out online.

Still I’m going to give a couple of the techniques some more consideration and I’ll report back if I become a squillionaire in 30 days or not. If not of course, then I’ll be going for a refund but I can see how by applying myself it could just work. At least it’s re-opened my eyes to possibilites and I’m still trying to find that way to stop doing as much Consultancy work. Fingers crossed it’s a new lifestyle ahead.
